Creation Residency - Barcelona Crea 2026

A creative residency on Shakespeare at Teatre La Biblioteca

As we prepare the first edition of the new Festival Shakespeare Barcelona-Catalunya, to be held from 8 to 18 April 2027, we are launching an open call for a creative residency based on the works and universe of Shakespeare, to be hosted at Teatre La Biblioteca.

The aim of this call is to foster the creation of new projects across any performing arts discipline — theatre, dance, music, circus, performance, or other hybrid formats — that engage with Shakespeare’s works and universe, encouraging new perspectives, adaptations, or contemporary reinterpretations. This grant is exclusively intended for the conception and definition phase of a project, that is, its creative development prior to any production process.
